BOSE GETTY BOX

Designed in conjunction with D3 Design, the Bose Getty Box is a portable cooking and music device with the design intention of increasing social interaction through music and food.

The original brief from D3 Design was to create domestic, outdoor, portable, urban living hub around which the modern family can congregate, interact with family and friends. In order to help cement the design in a consumer space, a brand name had to be selected that fitted with the design intention.

The Getty Box is built around bringing people together through food and music in both large family occasions or just a time to get together as friends. The device features 2 types of cooking surfaces, meaning traditional charcoal cooking or modern induction is a simple switch out.

Sound comes from patented Bose driver design with usage of both gold connectors, OLFLEX high heat cables to help keep the sound and music flowing even while cooking with high heat.

Following the presentation at D3 Design, the Getty Box was named the ‘’Best Product’’ for the university of Canberra 2019 awards. The decision came down to the unique idea, and overall concept to competing process that took place over the course of 14 weeks to end with a finished and refined product that could realistically go to market within 12-18 months.
